Shipping Policy
At The Chocolateries, we take great care to ensure your order is packed beautifully and arrives in excellent condition. Every parcel is prepared with the same attention and pride as the products we create.
Delivery Service
- Orders are shipped Australia wide with Australia Post. At The Chocolateries, we only deliver within Australia.
- For Melbourne Metro orders, we may also use our trusted delivery partner SJ Couriers. This allows us to provide faster, more reliable local delivery for certain areas.
- Due to the artisan nature of our products and small batch production, some items may need to be made fresh to complete your order. This may add up to 3 extra days to your dispatch time.
- If you need your order by a specific date, please include this in the “special instructions” box at checkout and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
- Once dispatched, you will receive an Australia Post tracking number (or courier delivery confirmation if sent with SJ Couriers).
- Express Post may be available on request – please contact us prior to ordering to discuss.
- We do not dispatch orders on weekends or on Victorian or national public holidays.
- For international orders, contact us via shop@yvci.com.au and a member of our team will be in touch with you in 2-3 business days.
- To protect your chocolates in warmer months, we may hold shipments during periods of extreme heat to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition.
- We recommend checking your address carefully before placing your order and placing orders early during busy periods.
Delivery Fees
- Australia wide flat rate: $15 per order.
Delivery Process
- If no one is home at the time of delivery, a collection card will be left (Australia Post deliveries), or our courier will leave in a safe location where possible (SJ Couriers).
- For business, school, or hospital addresses, please note we cannot take responsibility for items redirected to mailrooms, receptions, or front desks.
- Unforeseen Delays: While we make every effort to ensure timely delivery, we are not responsible for delays due to:
Weather events
Courier or postal service disruptions
Traffic incidents or other unforeseen circumstances
Loss & Damage
- Once goods are dispatched, all risk of loss or damage passes to the customer.
- If an order is lost in transit, we will make every effort to trace the parcel or send a replacement.
- Please note, while we pack every order with care, due to the fragile and perishable nature of chocolate, we cannot accept liability for damage caused by courier handling, delays, or exposure to heat.
Returns & Refunds
As our chocolates and treats are perishable goods, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Refunds or replacements are only provided in cases where an incorrect order has
been dispatched.
